Tacoma Sunset was brought to life by Veronica and Jim in 2020 as a way of coping with the ever-changing new world we are all now in thanks to Covid. They previously played together for a short time in the band Tacoma Rising. After the band went separate ways, they realized that what they both were looking for was the simplicity that acoustic music offered. Their love of stripped-down acoustic music and diverse musical tastes is apparent when you see them perform live. They cover many genres from classic rock, alternative, country, modern pop and more. Basically, if they enjoy the song, they’re going figure out how to play an acoustic version. When you see them play live, you’ll probably say “I didn’t expect to hear that song”. Their music will make you want to tap your feet, clap your hands and sing along, sometimes even whistle. Tacoma Sunset even has a few original songs that they will showcase at gigs. Their style of music is perfect for wineries, happy hours, bars, cocktail hours, weddings and private events.

Veronica has been around music her whole life but stepped out for many years to raise her family. She comes from a musical family and credits her love of diverse music to being influenced by so many different people who all shared a love of music. Musicians who loved the soul of music and it became her passion and peace. Her goal as you listen to her sing is to make you feel the same love and passion of music for yourself.

Jim has been playing music most of his life. He was taught by various classic rock, blues and jazz music teachers over the years. He’s been in various local cover bands but was always drawn to the simplicity of acoustic bands. His interest in different styles and genres brings a dynamic feel to cover and original songs. His diverse influences can be heard in the vast musical selection in each setlist.
